Hi - The end result is obvious. What's the cause is another issue. Erdogan like O is a "democrat" in sheep's clothing. He never intended to rule Turkey as a liberal democrat. Add corruption, etc. and the result is the same.
Was GW Bush a democrat? He was far worse than "O." The question is who were manipulating GWB, a known stupid and vindictive guy, and who are manipulating "O" now? What makes Americans such political morons is partisan blame game. Democracy is the problem and it relies on breeding dishonest partisan dopes. There is a very small % of voting America public that is not dishonest. Democracy breeds dishonesty. What clear evidence? India, in general, and Mumbai, in particular, where dishonesty and corruption are rampant in all branches of power, including Bollywood.
Yes, “the end result is obvious.” The dopes don’t understand the root causes. Like all other systems before it, democracy would be dismantled, first slowly and then an avalanche led by the US.

Jas, what do you mean when you say the American public is dishonest? Do you mean to say they lie about what they really want? Can they be dishonest and dopes at the same time?
Btw, the prospect of the collapse of liberal democracy is pretty frightening...
Do you have any particular preferences regarding political/ethical belief systems yourself or are you simply observing the flow of history and giving warnings about potential future events.
